Dear SDOH colleagues,

In followup to Bob's suggestion below, and the earlier thread on
brokering knowledge between communities and universities, I would like to
personally invite SDOH members to participate in Community-Campus
Partnerships for Health's 10th anniversary conference, "MObilizing
Partnerships for Social Change," April 11-14, 2007 in Toronto. The call
for proposals is now out and available at www.ccph.info, with an October
6 deadline.

The conference planning committee is looking for proposals that address
one or more of these sub-themes:
*Understanding and Addressing the Social Determinants of Health
*From Grassroots Movements to Policy Change
*Communities as Centers of Learning, Discovery and Engagement
*Developing the Science of Community-Based or Practice-Based Evidence

Proposals are sought for these session formats:
*Pre-conference intensive workshops
*Skill-building workshops
*Story sessions
*Challenges consultation sessions
*Film screening and discussion sessions
*Posters
*Thematic posters

I hope you will plan to propose a session!

Let me also add that CCPH is working to secure funds for scholarships to
ensure the full participation of students and individuals from
community-based organizations and developing countries. We are grateful
to The WK Kellogg Foundation, The Ontario HIV Treatment Network and The
University of Toronto's Centre for Urban Health Initiatives for already
committing funds for scholarships. Details at:
