Through the Public Health Agency for Canada website, Public Health Minister
Bennett is seeking input from citizens and stakeholders regarding the
Federal Public Health Strategy.
This is a tremendous opportunity to shape a broader direction for health
policy in Canada. While Minister Bennett is VERY receptive to broader SDOH
concepts, you can rest assured that she will be hearing from HUNDREDS of
exercise, fruits and vegetables, and tobacco control people about what they
think are the KEY issues in public health.
Please inform her that there are alternative views -- strongly supported by
the body of research -- that societal public policies related to income,
food security, health and social programs, exclusion and discrimination --
are the issues that need to be focussed upon.
Thanks!
