Barrio Adentro is a revolutionary primary health care initiative in Venezuela. It is an essential part of the Venezuelan government's comprehensive commitment to making social rights universal, fighting social inequity, eradicating poverty, combating exclusion, improving the efficiency of the comprehensive public health system, and promoting disease prevention. Drs. Armada and Muntaner will discuss the philosophy, development, and early performance of this model health program.
