Study: Duration of non-standard employment, 1999 to 2001

More than one-half of Canadian workers who had a so-called "non-standard
job" in 1999, such as part-time or temporary work, were still in the same
type of job two years later, according to the new study "Duration of
non-standard employment." ... SNIP
However, it raises concerns because workers in these jobs tend to have low
earnings and are more likely to live in low-income families. They also face
greater risk of unemployment, and enjoy fewer benefits.... SNIP
