I am again pleased to announce that Provost Peter Lange has made it
possible
for Duke University, for each of the next two years, to provide up to five
grants of up to $500 for young scholars from the US, or overseas, to use
the Economists' Papers Project materials in Duke's Rare Book, Manuscript,
and Special Collections Library (website
http://scriptorium.lib.duke.edu/economists)
These grants will be paid directly to one of several convenient local
hotels for living expenses incurred, and will not be paid to the scholar
directly. Grantees for academic year 2004-2005 will be selected by a
committee consisting of Professors Craufurd Goodwin, Neil DeMarchi,
and Roy Weintraub.
To apply for one of these grants, please send a letter (or email) setting
out the research objectives, and preferred period of residence in Durham,
to E. Roy Weintraub, Economics Department, Duke University, Durham, North
Carolina 27708-0097 (or [log in to unmask]).
There is no deadline for receipt of those application letters -- requests
will be handled on a rolling basis as long as funds remain available.
