Aside from this paper's inclusion in the NEJM's section on healthcare 
reform (U.S.), the concerns are and have been a constant. Numerous 
recent literature reviews on QOL indices confirm these gaps. Selected 
Cochrane Collaboration reviews also note shortfalls in the reporting of 
side effects, symptoms and QOL in clinical trials.
