60;70;..This publication presents an overview of evidence gathered from 52
good practices that reveal how the health sector can foster social
inclusion. It reflects the outcome of a project involving twelve public
health agencies and institutes across Europe, as well as the European
Health Management Association and a Primary Care Trust in England. The
participating organisations engaged in a cross-national exchange and
comparison of transferable good practices in this area and identified
concrete examples of the contribution that the health sector is making to
social inclusion70;..61;
EuroHealthNet has published two reports, which represent the outcomes of a
DG EMPL funded project on 'Tackling Health Inequalities and Social
Exclusion in Europe'. The reports were written in the context of the EU's
Open Method of Coordination in the field of Social Inclusion. They aim to
raise awareness amongst policy makers and practitioners of the significant
contribution that the health sector can make to social inclusion, and to
provide them with new ideas and inspiration on how to tackle social
exclusion.
The second report, 'The Role of the Health Care sector in Tackling Poverty
and Social Exclusion in Europe
Produced by the European Health Management Association (EHMA), is a
literature review that analyses, amongst other things, the barriers to
accessing health care and health care financing in relation to poverty.
