Issues of Low-wage Workers

“Wage levels affect our health and well-being,” says Dr. Duncan Matheson,
Director of Laurentian University’s School of Social Work and a member of
the Working Poor Project Steering Committee. “The number of low-wage
workers in Sudbury is growing – which means that, increasingly, area
residents struggle to find affordable housing, food, transportation,
daycare and personal services, not to mention time with their families,” he
adds. “This is an opportunity to inform and educate the public on struggles
of low-wage workers within our community.”
