I just received my copy of "Tackling Health Inequities Through Public
Health Practice" from the National Association of County and City Health
Officials (NACCHO). It is excellent. It even has a contribution from
Waterloo Region (Ontario) Public Health Unit).

"Tackling Health Inequities Through Public Health Practice" provides a
knowledge base and innovative approaches for transforming everyday public
health practice, departmental structure, and organizational culture in ways
that may advance the attack on the root causes of inequities in the
distribution of disease and illness. Through case studies and a conceptual
framework, the book offers ideas, insight, and questions designed to
strengthen LHD capacity to take action within a social justice perspective,
in conjunction with their communities. Members, get one copy of this item
free. Non-member Price$1.00. (shipping extra...)
So, no health unit in North America now has an excuse for not doing
something!
