Hi Glenda
We have a couple of people here that do presentations on Health Promotion. Ie. healthy eating, diabetes care, exercise options (necessity of), smoking cessation. Would you like me to forward your email to them? The safe home also has a presenter who has a great bullying cessation program.
Take care,
Christina

Subject: Wealth of the Nation: UK
report available at: http://www.caci.co.uk/pdfs/won2005.pdf
Stark North/South income divide still exists in Britain
CACI's annual Wealth of the Nation report reveals who earns the most and
the least in the UK
Residents of Elvetham Heath in Fleet, Hampshire have the highest annual
income - at an average of £64,000 - according to CACI's annual Wealth of
the Nation report, released today. People earn the least in Birkenhead,
Leicester and Middlesbrough, where the average income is only £13,000, less
than half the national average of £31,000.
Wealth of the Nation 2005 profiles the income of every postcode in the UK,
producing a true picture of wealth for use by planners and analysts. This
year's report shows that average incomes have risen by 5.5 per cent since
2004. As a result, there are now more households earning over £100,000 (1.5
per cent compared to 1.25 per cent in 2004) and fewer people with an income
of less than £10,000 (13.1 per cent compared to 14 per cent).
Elvetham Heath has regularly featured in the Wealth of the Nation top 10,
and this year tops the ranking for the first time due to a recent
development of large houses which add to Fleet's traditionally wealthy
'blue triangle'.
North/South divide
This year's report confirms that a North/South divide still exists, with
all ten of the highest earning postcodes located in the South East of
England, although areas of Aberdeen, Altrincham, Salford and Warrington are
ranked in the top 100.
Conversely, all the lowest earning postcodes are in the North. Similarly,
the highest levels of children living in poverty (defined as households
earning less than 60 per cent of the national median) occur in Kingston
upon Hull, Middlesbrough, Dundee, Glasgow, Bleaenau, Gwent, Nottingham and
Leicester.
See below for details of the top and bottom 10 postcodes.
Ethnicity
Wealth of the Nation 2005 also reveals the income profile of ethnic groups.
Analysis shows that Pakistani and Bangladeshi households are on average
poorer than the white population, while Indians and Chinese are on average
wealthier.
Commenting on the research, John Rae, Director of Business Development at
CACI, said:
"Although this year's report has shown that a North/South income divide
still exists, the picture becomes far more complex when drilled down to
postcode level, with unexpected pockets of wealth across the country. This
presents a challenge for marketers and planners who need detailed knowledge
to support strategic business decisions, which is where Wealth of the
Nation can act as a vital resource."
