The Honourable Roy McMurtry, Ontario Chief Justice and Chair of Toronto
Mayor Miller’s Advisory Panel on Community Safety, helped launch the
Malvern Youth Leadership Inclusion Facilitation and Enabling project
(M.Y.L.I.F.E) today at the Malvern Community Recreation Centre.

Funded in part by a $35,000 grant from Wellesley Central Health Corporation
(WCHC), the project provides an opportunity for Malvern youth to voice
their collective concerns in matters such as the standard of service of:
health, justice, safety, employment, education and recreation. Of a
universal financial and in-kind funding base of $150,000, WCHC is
contributing approximately half. Said WCHC C.E.O Richard Blickstead, “This
fits perfectly with our focus on three major social determinants of health:
housing, social exclusion and income inequality, and with our core mandate
to champion the development of healthy communities.”
