I think this is an important debate and one that points out that the current electoral systems of many countries are anti-democratic. In the US this is highly so for many reasons among them the lack of choice, same day registration, etc. Instant Runoff Voting could very likely be a health enhancing policy change but even many US "progressives" and public health people cannot get themselves behind it because of their support for one of the dominant parties.
