Dennis and colleagues,
In today's Halifax paper there was a piece suggesting that government is about to throw an additional $3 billion into acute health care (but not to support a safety net for pharmacare).

Do members of this list feel that this is the best use of the communal funds, or would communities be better off using the money to support housing, education, social safety networks, recreational facilities and health care including drug coverage for disadvantaged populations?

Is there any literature that one could use to help decide among the competing alternatives?
