It is frightening to consider how many Canadians appear prepared to give
"Harper and the Conservatives a chance" without considering the
consequences for Canadian society and our way of life. During the decades
of Harper-type rule in Britain, the extent of poverty exploded, crime
soared, reading scores plumetted, and the UK became one of the most
polarized societies in the developed world. During the Reagan/Bush Jr. and
Sr. era, the quality of life in the USA drastically declined, deficits
exploded, and the incomes of the bottom 80% have gone nowhere. And all of
us in Toronto are now dodging bullets as the legacy of the Harris era are
seen in "The Harris children. If you are thinking of voting Conservative,
think again.
