Crisis Call
A Documentary by Laura Sky
JANUARY 31ST , 2006 4:30 PM
STEDMAN LECTURE HALL F
In February 1997 Edmund Yu, a psychiatric
survivor in crisis, was shot and killed by
Toronto police after an altercation on a
city transit bus.
Award-winning Toronto film-maker
Laura Sky created the compelling and
controversial Crisis Call to consider
the question: What can be done to
prevent a mental health crisis from
escalating into violence?
HEALTH YU and York’s Health &
Society Programme are pleased to
bring Laura Sky and Crisis Call to
York University. Join us on Tuesday,
January 31, 2006 in Stedman Lecture
Hall F. The film will screen at 4:30;
Laura Sky will speak afterward about
the making of this film. Attendance
is free.
Co-Sponsored by HEALTH YU,
Health and Society, Urban
Studies, Criminology, the
School of Nursing, Critical
Disability Studies and the
Division of Social Science
