Sandi, do you know of any further info on this presentation, perhaps an
electronic copy of it or a location on the Web?
I'm curious about the part I've emphasized below, in its conclusion:
"Almost half of the women with breast, cervical, endometrial and ovarian
cancer in this study reported a history of violence and this correlated with
advanced stage at diagnosis DESPITE EQUIVALENT ADHERENCE TO RECOMMENDED
CANCER SCREENING."
Anyone working with people who come from a background of abuse can attest to
its correlation with low self-esteem and a lack of self-care.
I'm wondering how the authors determined that there was equivalent adherence.
