Elizabeth May has her work cut out for her and as tempting as it is to 
imagine that she is riding in on her white steed to provide political 
salvation for the poor
consider these comments with respect to the Green platform in the last 
election before you start voting Green for the poor:

I think the key item, for myself and many others, is strong policy. So I 
went to the Green web site.

There I found the following.

1)  'Fiscal policy' will only "postpone corporate tax cuts",

to increase financial returns, increase tax deductibility levels for 
employer contributions, and to define the status of pension fund surpluses."

this item represents further financial industry consolidation and monopoly.
3) the 'policy' is scanty, and other than tinkering with the GST, is working 
lock-step with finance/ insurance giants who are trying to extract more 
public subsidies;

"The Green Party believes that the more pressing problem facing 
corporations is not high tax rates, but rather the fiscal reform that is 
required to  help them address their unfunded employee pension liability 
crisis."

Much like Paul Martin, Jim Harris tosses rhetoric against 'American 
insurance companies' around http://www.greenparty.ca/mediarelease91.html
with specific measures which in fact will give those same corporations 
deeper access to our pockets.
4) we get a hint of where Harris is actually headed further up in the media 
release; "Numerous American corporations are now either in bankruptcy 
protection or facing it, partially as a result of health care costs for 
existing workers and commitments to former employees," said Harris.

Then, when we go to 'Health Care policy' all we read is a Cancer plan that 
would have funding go to specific institutes, but not necessarily for 
public implementation.

Following the cancer 'plan' are only 3 more points - allocating some cash 
for 'education', 'urging' Alberta to limit private clinics, and a rather 
contradictory statement;

"The Green Party of Canada is the only national party that has a plan to 
deal with the problem of private health care, which included urging Quebec 
to invoke the notwithstanding clause in the Supreme Court decision last 
winter. The party will issue a detailed health care plan later in the 
campaign. "

When one clicks on this item, one gets further contradictions;

"Health care is a provincial matter, and the problem has to be dealt with 
at a provincial level," Mr. Harris said. As such, it would be up to the 
individual provinces to deal with existing private clinics. The Green  Party 
of Canada would ensure, however, that the Canada Health Act applies to all 
provinces equally and is enforced. "

and that's it !

It looks like the only places where Jim Harris is getting specific is on 
items of benefit to the corporate sector.
