Institute for Health Information (through its Canadian Population Health

“….Obesity is a health issue of epidemic proportion in Canada. Six
organizations that support research invited approximately one hundred
individuals from widely varying backgrounds to participate in a two-day
Think Tank to help identify and explore key policy questions and concerns
that could be informed through a targeted research agenda.



The Think Tank was structured to be a springboard for ideas that could
direct future research toward innovations in the fight against obesity.
Discussions focused on enhancing the policy-related evidence base in two
important dimensions: economic policy and the built environment….”
