I've written a lot lately on my blog about the prisoner's dilemma
which voters face in this election. And I even danced with the idea,
for the first time in my voting life, of voting "strategically."

But after careful consideration, examining the arguments pro and con,
I decided against it. I caution anyone who's considering such a vote,
to think hard about it, to think what this party or that is asking
voters who are not their customary supporters to do.

Yesterday, I wrote a post which pretty much summarizes why I think
strategic voting is a misguided exercise and simply wrong.

Rae: Liberals should target NDP

pro and con are provided, along with their sources, as are links to
strategic voting guides.

> This website, http://www.voteforenvironment.ca/, is an effective tool for those who are disturbed about the likelihood of a Harper majority obtained with a minority of the votes. It is important to understand that the outcome of the election will be decided in a small number of swing ridings where there is a race between a Conservative and one of the opposition parties. The website facilitates strategic voting only in those particular ridings where it can make a difference to stop Harper. The website expresses no preference in ridings where the race does not involve a Conservative, or where there is no race (the seat is safe for one of the candidates). Please go the website and check the current projections and polling for your own riding. Make sure you vote. Most importantly, please forward this email to as many people as you can.

> The national debates have wrapped up and Canadians are really starting to think about which party they will cast their vote for.
>
> Regardless of what the politicians say for the rest of this campaign, the reality is that there is a massive online conversation underway across Canada amongst voters about the environment, global warming and strategic voting.
>
> The Vote For Environment project has reached thousands of Canadians (121,461 to be exact) in the last week - people are telling us that they are emailing and facebooking the Vote For Environment website to everyone they know.
>
> And this conversation will continue whether Stephen Harper and the Conservative Party want it or not. Harper's government refuses to take action on this issue. Heck even John McCain and the Republicans are planning to do more than Harper.
>
> There is still 12 days to go before Canada goes to the voting booth and there's still plenty of time to convince Canadians to put their concern about the environment ahead of partisan politics.
>
> So please keep sending the Vote For Environment website to everyone you know and ask them to send it to everyone they know. What else can you do?

> Avez-vous regardé le débat des chefs?
>
>
> Que faire de plus?
