If it has not already been suggested I would use the book edited by McGibbon - Oppression: A Social Determinant of Health. While it is written from a Canadian perspective, the book can be used to ask "does this apply to the US?"

Subject: [SDOH] Suggested readings for a Sociology graduate course in health inequalities
Hello,
I turn to the list members to make recommendations for a sociology graduate course in the US on health inequalities. Have been asked to make suggestions and am also trying to compile my own comps reading list.
So I would be very appreciative of any specific readings or academics that you would recommend. Curious as well to key topics that the listserv members believe should be covered week to week in a health inequalities course. Also if anyone has syllabi that they would be willing to share that would be very helpful.
I know that others have posed questions asking for help with their syllabi- would love to hear from them as well.
Thanks in advance,
Sivan
