Applicants Sought for Health and Science Scholars Program
7/2/2004

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation is accepting applications for its Health
& Society Scholars Program, which is designed to improve health by training
scholars to investigate the connections among biological, behavioral,
environmental, economic, and social determinants of health.

Through the program, leaders are encouraged to change the questions asked
and the methods employed to analyze problems and the range of solutions
offered to improve the health of all Americans.

Outstanding individuals who have completed doctoral training in disciplines
ranging from the behavioral and social sciences to the biological and
natural sciences and health professions are eligible to apply.

Significant research experience is required. Past training in
health-related areas is not a requirement, but applicants must be able to
connect their research interests to substantive population-health concerns.

The deadline for applications is Oct. 15. Up to 18 individuals will be
selected for the two-year appointments that will begin in the fall semester
of 2005.

Interested applicants must apply online.
