Ashley, on the topic of Parks, Forestry and Recreation - you may want to
connect with the frontline workers carrying out the "Investing in Families"
Pilot Project. They are doing some really innovative stuff to get families
involved in recreation.
Good luck!

Hi Ashley,

I'd recommend getting in touch with Parks and Recreation Ontario
(http://www.prontario.org/). A couple of years ago they held a policy
planning institute on Access to Recreation for Low-Income Families in
Ontario -- there was a binder provided with some excellent background
materials which did incorporate SDOH concerns. I'm not sure what's happening
with that project now, but I'm sure they'd be glad to talk to you.

Subject: [SDOH] Social Inclusion as SDOH

Hi everyone,

Im an MSW student from Laurier. Im doing research around how social
inclusion can be achieved in recreation within the City of Toronto. While
there are obvious physical health benefits with participation in recreation,
I am more concerned with the connection between social inclusion and SDOH
and how these are related to recreation.

If anyone has information around social inclusion, recreation or how those
two topics relate to SDOH, that would be fantastic. Even if you think a
resource is a stretch, I would appreciate it since research can change
direction in the blink of an eye!!!

Thanks so much!
