Greetings folks,

My name is Tim and I am a Research and Statistics Officer at Nova Scotia Health Promotion and Protection (NSHPP), Addiction services. At NSHPP we intend to contract the services of an IT consultant to conduct an evaluation of the Addiction Services Statistical Information System Technology (ASsist) client management application database. This database provides an electronic file for clients of Addiction Services throughout the province as well as a database management system for research, quality improvement and statistical information used to guide programming and resource decisions. The evaluation will include a systems analysis, customer utilization and functionality review. Basically, we wish to answer the following questions: does the system support clinical/business processes? If so then in what ways and if not then what is lacking? We don't want to focus on the system itself; instead we want to know how the system is supporting the good folks who use the system in their daily work. The anticipated outcome is recommendations around system and business rule changes.

My question is whether you have been involved in a similar project and if so, whether you would be willing to share the particulars around this evaluation? This information would be used to guide our own procurement requirements. Any information you can provide to help inform our evaluation project especially related to the kind of work that an evaluation would entail (e.g., a statement of work regarding the project) would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time

Sincerely,

Tim
