BUILDING A GLOBAL CLIMATE CAMPAIGN
MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 10, 2007 -- 7:00 PM
LOCATION: 233 Gilmour St, PSAC Office, Ottawa (at Metcalfe St.)

Featuring:
PHIL THORNHILL, founder and national co-ordinator of the Campaign Against
Climate Change (UK), and a central figure in the Global Climate Campaign.
"Time is running out to prevent the catastrophic destabilisation of global
climate," says Phil. "US obstructionism has come at a price that future
generations, all around the world, will pay and the price tag for the
failure of world leaders to take effective action... could ultimately be
measured in billions of lives... In all this gloom the beacon of hope
represented by the emergence of a global movement to push for urgent action
on climate shines all the brighter. Never has there been a greater need for
such a movement."

Want to Stop Hurricane Harper?
That same "US obstructionism" Phil denounces, has been defended at every
turn by the Harper Conservatives. As George W. Bush, Stephen Harper, and the
few remaining advocates of climate crisis continue to stall and stonewall,
people around the world are preparing for the largest planetary day of
action yet to stop climate chaos. ACT for the Earth is seeking your
participation in building a broad pan-Canadian mobilization on and beyond
this day. We can't leave action on climate change in the hands of Bush,
Harper, and a phalanx of chief executives. And we can't let Harper block
progress on climate change any longer. It's up to us now.

Rise Up to Stop Climate Chaos!
On December 8, people in over 60 countries around the world will take to the
streets to confront the greatest threat humanity has ever faced. (See
www.globalclimatecampaign.org) The worldwide mobilization will coincide with
the UN Climate Talks (MOP 3, COP 13) in Bali, Indonesia, from December 3rd
to 14th 2007. These talks will mark a crucial turning point. Negotiations on
what will replace the Kyoto Protocol when it expires in 2012 are expected to
dominate the conference. The urgency for action on climate change leading up
to the conference in Bali and beyond could not be clearer. A broad movement
to stop climate chaos is ready to be sparked. Will you be a part of it?

Join us on Monday, September 10, to build the Global Climate Campaign.
