RESEARCH COORDINATOR

A full-time Research Coordinator is required to work
as part of the St. Joseph’s Health System Research
Network.  The candidate will work primarily at St.
Joseph’s Health Centre Guelph and will be responsible
for the day-to-day management of several research
projects and internal evaluation activities.

Specific duties include: collaborating with research
and clinical staff; overseeing collection, entry,
verification, management, analysis, and reporting of
data; assisting in the development of research
protocols for ethics review and/or submission to
external funding agencies; assisting with preparation
of research papers, reports and presentations. The
incumbent will assist in the design of databases and
utilize statistical computer software to analyze data
and interpret and present the findings.  He/she will
ensure that the relevant clinical and research
methodology is applied and that the proper handling of
all research materials is used and will ensure that
confidentiality is maintained.

The following skills and qualifications are required:
Master’s level education  or equivalent experience;
the ability to work independently; demonstrated
knowledge of research design and the application of
appropriate statistical techniques; excellent personal
and written communication skills including telephone,
letter writing and report writing skills; excellent
analytic and problem-solving skills within the context
of research goals and research implementation
activities; demonstrated organizational skills
including the ability to manage a number of tasks
simultaneously; be prepared to work flexible hours;
demonstrated writing abilities; demonstrated ability
in using SAS, SPSS, Excel, Word and Access software
packages.  Experience working within a health care
setting is an asset.
