I meant to post this before the election but didn't get around to it.

This was triggered by seeing a "Ross for Boss" poster in Tucson
a couple of weeks ago.  Something clicked: Ross Perot seemed to
have a lot in common with Hank Morgan.  Practical, hard-headed,
bottom-line types.  Populists with authoritarian streaks.  Good
at information-gathering and high-tech communication.  Suspicious
of established power.

Coincidence, or is Perot just an avatar of an American type that
Twain recognized 100 years ago?
