Forrest G. Robinson's new book The Author-Cat is out. I have had the chance to read it and thoroughly enjoyed it. I realize that you
professor-types have different criteria than we simple, backwoods
country lawyers. I apply the joy factor. If I'm bored after 50 pages I
move on to the next book.
I do not do literary criticism or analysis but I appreciate a good
read and a fascinating subject. While I was reading this book I felt I
was hiding behind Freud's desk and Sam was on the couch. The ideas fly
fast and furious and the prose is good enough to have been written by an
Irishman -- which I presume Mrs. Robinson's boy is. Give it a look if
you have a chance.
By the way, when I was at Quarry Farm week before last, there was a
inch-and-a-half pink plastic pig on the bedside table in the East
bedroom. No joke. I brought it home with me as a souvenir. Only one
rational explanation I can think of: Sam lives!
