To the considerable discussion of MT and PTBarnum, let me add that a
large section of David E.E.Slone's book MT as Literary Comedian is on
Barnum's influence on T as a humorist. The book seeks to overturn or
at least modify the theory that MT was in the old southwest humor
tradition.
