It s generally accepted that no actual voice recordings of Twain still
exist.
Hal Holbrook wrked out his vocal interpretation with the help of Isabel
Lyon,
one of the few people he could ask who knew his voice well.  What intrigued
me
in the first post in the series is that SLC was only a background voice in a
re
cording Edison made of someone else.  This seems more possible than any
other
recording having gone unnoticed for nearly a century.
