On the 14th, the mint opened the early order period for the Mark Twain coins. The $5 coin, 90 per cent gold and in proof condition, is $364 today. See them all at catalog.usmint.gov/  Have fun dreaming what you would have bought if you had won the lottery last night. Remember Twain's notation: The lottery is a government institution & the poor its best patrons.   - Notebook 17, October 1878 - February 1879
