What:   deadtech.ccs.yorku.ca (IP address 130.63.168.21)
        York's primary DNS and DHCP server.

When:   Friday November 6th

Time:   6:15 - 6:30

Reason: To re-install upgraded DNS server

Effect on users:
        Users may experience significant delays when opening or
        communicating with other network hosts (internal and
        external to York). The delay will vary across applications.

        This outage has been scheduled to coincide with the
        weekly modem maintenance period, in order to minimize
        the effect on our users.

        We currently have "secondary" servers that also provide
        DNS connectivity. Users who are responsible for their
        own machine configurations should take this opportunity
        to ensure that the "search list" for DNS is:

        At main campus:

                130.63.168.21
                130.63.237.99
                132.251.1.2

        And at Glendon:

                130.63.152.14
                130.63.168.21
                130.63.237.99
                132.251.1.2

        Having this search list will minimize the effect of any
        of our DNS server.

        This outage should be "invisible" to DHCP clients.
