This one-day practical learning opportunity is for everyone concerned about children aged 6-12 yrs.
Keynote speakers:
Ann Douglas, Canadian Author of The Mother of All Parenting Books, The Mother of all Toddler Books etc
Gerrard Kennedy, Minister of Education (still to confirm)
Marie Bountrogianni, Minister of Children and Citizenship (still to confirm)
Participants will:
*explore the growth and developmental needs of children in their middle years
*identify the benefits and critical components of programs for children and their families
*be part of establishing a city-wide Middle Years Matter Coalition
*identify that barriers that exist in establishing quality programs and explore ways to overcome the barriers

Currently the group includes representatives from Adventure Place, Better Beginnings Now, Doorsteps Neighbourhood Services, Delta Family Resource Centre, Childrens' Aid Society of Toronto, Toronto Parks and Rec, Toronto Public Health, Parent ChildNetwork of WestToronto, St. Christopher House, Toronto District School Board and Hincks-Dellcrest Centre.****
