Subject: WHO

     A resolution on Health Promotion based on the Jakarta Declaration has
     been adopted by WHOs Executive Board in its meeting last week (101st
     session). It can be accessed on the WHO website. It will be forwarded
     to this years World Health Assembly in May. It is the first ever such
     resolution on health promotion.

     Dr. Gro Harlem Brundtland, former Prime Minister of Norway, has been
     nominated by the same Exective Board for the post of the Director
     General of WHO. More information can be accessed on the WHO website.
