After leading the Society through unprecedented growth over the last six years, Executive Director Chuck Shields will leave the Society as of November 15 to serve as Executive Director of the Canadian Cardiovascular Society. This professional association of physicians and researchers focuses on improving the heart health of Canadians. Under Chuck's leadership, CSIH more than doubled its membership, initiated major bilateral programs in Ukraine and Bolivia, and introduced an increasingly successful annual series of international health conferences, among other achievements. CSIH would like to express its gratitude to Chuck for his tremendous hard work and dedication during his tenure and to wish him great success in the new position. We will miss him but know that the CCS will benefit from his leadership at this crucial point in their development.

In the next few weeks, the Board of CSIH will establish a search committee to start the search for a new Executive Director.
