"Canadian Community Health Centres (CHCs) embody the principles of
primary health care through their decision-making processes and their
partnerships with individuals and the communities they serve.

 

This is a finding of a study led by researchers at the University of
Alberta which compared citizen participation in CHCs across Canada with
the characteristics of the communities served and those of the CHC. The
largest study of its kind within the Canadian context, data was
collected from about 1200 participants at 17 CHCs in eight provinces."
