Also - for research options - SAGE journals puts their online content
out free at various times. February is such a time, so if you go to
their web site you can search some of the terms that you're looking for
below and access material you find. You do have to sign up with SAGE
for the access - contact me off-list and I can forward you the message
with instructions.

It's a great resource for those without access to major research
libraries and SAGE seems to do this with some regularity.

Check out the Canadian Paediatric Society website. They have a special
section with resources, practice tools, a list of champions, etc. at
http://www.cps.ca/English/HealthCentres/HAL/Index.htm.

Subject: Call for information: Preschool physical activity & play

Hello,

I am looking for information surrounding preschool activity for a
research
project I am assisting with. Below are 2 areas that I am seeking more
info
on:

1. The most promising practices of physical activity and play programs
for
the 4-6 year old age cohort.

2. Reasons why families do engage (enablers) in gross motor play with
their
preschool (4-6 year old) children and reasons why families do not engage
(barriers) in gross motor play with their preschool (4-6 year old)>
children.

I would appreciate any information on current research/projects that are
underway as well as any other direction pertaining to resources related
to
the above two points.

Thanks in advance for your help and expertise!
Courtney
