Could you please share the following information with colleagues with
respect to a position opening at the Hamilton-Wentworth Regional Public
Health Department.

MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR

The Hamilton-Wentworth Regional Public Health Department is recruiting for
a new position that will assist the Department with statutory duties
related to chronic disease prevention.

Reporting to the Director of the Healthy Lifestyles Branch, you will
develop and implement a strategic marketing process to ensure that
lifestyle and chronic disease prevention programs are matched to the needs,
wants and preferences of citizens.  You will design, implement and evaluate
multi-year social marketing programs to raise awareness, increase knowledge
and change behaviours related to chronic disease prevention through
tobacco-free living, healthy eating, healthy weights and regular physical
activity.  You will also develop partnership programs with media
organizations and the private sector to build capacity for population-wide
changes in lifestyle behaviours.

You will have a Master’s degree in Marketing/Social Marketing complemented
by skills in market research methodology, strategic planning, problem
solving, consultation and innovation.  In addition, You have demonstrated
competence in developing a multi-year marketing plan, media relations,
project management and written/oral communication.
