I think that it is something that is not a problem unless you let it become
one.  If the child is constantly sleeping in their parents bed, then this can
create a habit which is hard to break.  As long as parents are aware of this
and therefore do not let the child spend too much time consistently in their
bed, then the habit should not be too hard to break.
