Minimum Requirements:
Education: A bachelor's and a postgraduate degree to at least the master's
level in economics with specialized studies in health economics,

Experience at national level: Seven years of experience in
economic/financial analysis as applied to health and health care policies
at the national level. Experience in research activites in the area of
health or development economics is desirable. At international level: Two
years of participation in projects and activities involving analytical,
teaching or advisory work in health economics and financing with an
emphasis on policy formulation and evaluation.

Languages: Very good knowledge of English or Spanish, with a working
knowledge of the other.

Bir Zeit University (West Bank) seeks a Professor of Public Health
------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Department of Community and Public Health at Bir Zeit University (West
Bank) seeks a public health specialist interested for the position of
Professor of Public Health for its new Masters of Public Health Program.
Tenure: September 1, 1997 to August 31, 1998. Requirements: Candidates
should be a relatively senior person, equivalent to an Associate Professor.
The individual should be able to teach environmental health, primary health
care, health and society, and basic public health. The course load is one
class per session. The candidate would also supervise student projects and
theses. The teaching language is English. Knowledge of Arabic is not
required, but would be an asset. The individual would be able to carry out
independent health research.

Le Departement de sante communautaire et de sante publique de l'Universite
de Bir Zeit (Cisjordanie) recrute un(e) specialist(e) en sante publique
pour un poste a titre de professeur de sante publique dans le nouveau
programme de maîtrise en sante publique du Departement. La duree du poste
sera du 1er septembre 1997 au 31 aout 1998.

Le/la candidat(e) devrait avoir de l'experience dans l'enseignement
universitaire, et etre en mesure d'enseigner les cours en sante
environnementale, les soins de sante primaires, la sante et la societe, et
la sante publique.  Le candidat sera responsable d'un cours par session et
supervisera les theses et les travaux des étudiants. La langue de
l'enseignement et de travail sera l'anglais. La connaissance de la langue
arabe n'est pas necessaire, mais sera un atout. Le Departement encouragera
l'individu a poursuivre sa propre recherche en sante.

AIHA seeks a Country Coordinator - Bosnia
------------------------------------------------------------------------
The American International Health Alliance (AIHA) is a non-profit group
which supports health care assistance projects in the New Independent
States (NIS) of the former Soviet Union and in the countries of Central and
Eastern Europe (CEE), under grants from USAID. AIHA is currently seeking a
qualified candidate for the position of Country Coordinator - Bosnia.
Duties include:  supporting and monitoring partnership activities in Tuzla,
Bosnia including, travel and logistical arrangements; liaising with Bosnian
Ministry of Health,
USAID, US Military, bilateral donor institutions and local officials;
financial accounting of project expenses; and monthly reporting and program
evaluation.

Minimum Requirements: B.A./B.S., in Public Health, International Public
Administration, or related field; 3 years experience in development work;
strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Salary commensurate with
experience and educational background.
