from outside Canada you still may wish to call and say that Canada will
look good in the eyes of the world it it passes the anti-tobacco bill and
will be shamed in the eyes of the world if it doesn't pass the bill. (that

Subject: HELP! Urgent!

Dear Colleagues and Friends of Tobacco Control,

We are in trouble with Bill C-71, the Tobacco Act.  Please call the Prime
Minister's office by noon on Wednesday to express your support for the
Bill. The phone number is 613-992-4211.  This shouldn't take any more than
two minutes of your time.  If you can mobilize others to call, please do
so. Every call counts!

All they are doing now is tallying the numbers for and against the Bill.
You may be asked which province you are from.  If you're from Quebec, even
better!  That's where we're having the most trouble with the Bill.

Those of you from Quebec should also call Quebec Liberal MPs and Members
of the Bloc Quebcois.  The message for the Liberals is to hang tough and
do the right thing by passing the Bill.  The message for the Bloc is
"shame on you for putting sports and cultural events ahead of Quebec
lives".
