Top-Ten Telemed Site Offers Conference
Burlington, VT -- The University of Vermont-Fletcher Allen Health Care
academic medical center -- just named a "top-ten telemedicine site for
the second year in a row by TELEMEDICINE AND TELEHEALTH NETWORKS -- is
presenting its third annual "Information Connection" conference on
January 28-30 at the Sheraton Hotel in Burlington.
One of ONLY FOUR sites in the country to be named a top-ten tele-
medicine site in both '96 and '97, UVM-FAHC received this recognition
from TELEMEDICINE AND TELEHEALTH NETWORKS as a "testament" to its
"continuing evolution." UVM-FAHC was also the ONLY site on the top-ten
list to be recognized for applications in all specialties of care.
At the conference, healthcare professionals from across North America
will gain practical information about both telemedicine AND INFORMATICS
from leaders in both areas. The event typically attracts an average of
150 physicians, administrators, CIO's, researchers, allied health
professionals, and others.
Keynote speakers this year are LAWRENCE DELUCAS, Former NASA astronaut;
MARK FRISEE, MD, associate dean, Medical School Library, Washington
University; and CHARLES FRIEDMAN, PhD, assistant vice chancellor and
director, Center for Biomedical Informatics, University of Pittsburgh
Medical Center.
The conference features over 75 presentations, demonstrations and
workshops and this year includes a LIVE VIDEO LINK with the BAYLOR
SCHOOL OF DENTISTRY. EXHIBITOR space is still available.
