The Canadian Red Cross Society, in collaboration with others, is
undertaking a campaign with regard to the rights of children and the

initiative as directed below. - CANCHID ListManagement -

--------------- Children and War ----------------------------------

The Canadian Red Cross Society, Hamilton Branch, and the Centre for
International Health at McMaster University, in partnership with UNICEF
and Save the Children, is preparing a campaign geared at but not limited
to school children in the hope to raise awareness and promote action on
Children and War.

The focus is on violation of children's rights concerning using them as
soldiers, as well as the problems of landmines, separation from family,
lack of nutrition and education during war.

The campaign will promote community and global action through
presentations, and a teachers' follow up kit.

For further information please contact Douglas Mattina or Karen Hymas in
International Services at the Red Cross, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada
