Invitation to the First Asia & Pacific Health Economics Forum and the
initiation of the Asia & Pacific Health Economics Network
---------------------------------------------------------------------
The Centre for Health Economics at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok,
Thailand, in collaboration with the World Health Organization and other
Agencies, will organize the first Asia and the Pacific Health Economics
Forum on March 19-20, 1998 to commemorate the Fiftieth Anniversary of
the World Health Organization (WHO). This forum aims to stimulate
researchers, health administrators, and international funders to be aware
of the increasing needs for health economics capacity building and to
promote links and networking in the field of health economics.

The Forum will be regarded as an initial step towards creating formal
links within Asia and the Pacific, and with other national and
international networks in fields related to health economics.

The WHO Collaborating Centre for Health Economics at Chulalongkorn
University plans to establish a Health Economics Network for Asia and the
Pacific. This will link researchers, health administrators, and
academicians
in the field of health economics so that experiences and ideas can be
shared
both internationally and nationally, intra- and inter-network. The hope is
to establish partnerships with other networks relating to Health Economics
issues all over the world.
