For those outside Canada:  Ontario primary and secondary school teachers are
staging the first ever North American province/state wide walk-out over the
continuing authoritarian legislative agenda of our present "conservative"
government.  Bill 160 is only the latest of a series of unbelievably mean-spirited
and unhealthy legislation.

This government previously cut welfare benefits by 22% and has gutted existing
environmental protection regulations (among others things too numerous to
document). Last month public employees threatened a province-wide walkout over
proposed legislation to abrograte collective bargaining. The government backed
down!  The teachers now hold centre-stage.

DEMONSTRATION
A demonstration is planned for Wednesday, 2:00 PM at the Mowat Block in Toronto.
The Mowat Block is at Bay and Wellesley.
