Salary Information: Basic Salary:$48,019 at single rate; Post Adjustment:$8,499 at single rate; Hardship/Mobility:$5,577 at single rate

Minimum Requirements: Education: A university degree in one of the health sciences with a master's degree in public health, health services administration or a field related to public health.  A medical degree would be an asset.  Experience: At national level:  Seven years of experience in activities related to public health, policy development, planning and management of health     services, health care information systems, and human resources development in the health sector.  At international level:  Two years of participation in technical cooperation programs and activities in the areas of health planning, human resources development, health policy and health systems research. --------------------------------------------------------This is a practical, iterative and hands on workshop designed for international development practitioners (donors, NGOs, the private sector), native facilitators and leaders, community activists, participatory researchers and educators, development program officers, and NGOs in both North and South. 
The workshop will combine experiential learning with practical field assignments in the community where participants will be able to field-test tools and methods. The Canadian Society for International Health (CSIH) Seeks One of its Members to Serve as Representative on the Committee to Advise on Tropical Medicine and Travel (CATMAT) of the Laboratory Centre for Disease Control (LCDC) in Health Canada

The first responsibility of this representative will be to attend the annual CATMAT meeting in Ottawa on October 22 & 23.  In addition, the representative will participate in other, on-going consultations and requests during the year.  This will be a two year appointment.  

It is important to note that neither Health Canada nor the Society will be able to provide financial support for the representative's participation in the Committee.  The Society is keen to extend this invitation beyond the Ottawa region in case there may be members who are interested in participating on these terms.  

The person selected as the representative will have demonstrated experience in travel health, will be prepared to provide brief reports to the Society on the discussions and activities of CATMAT, and will share the Society's points of view in CATMAT. Because of the approaching date of the CATMAT Annual Meeting, those persons interested in this opportunity are asked to send their expression of interest to the Society by 5:00pm, Wednesday, October 8, 1997, including a CV or description of background.
