THE FUTURE OF AMERICAN MEDICINE
Changing Paradigms for Healing

October 20-21, 1997

The Nittany Lion Inn
The Pennsylvania State University
State College, Pennsylvania

A Tri-Part Event on Integrating Alternative and Conventional Health Care
Strategies

About the Conference

Healthcare in America is immersed in a powerful momentum of change, fueled
by a true scientific revolution and consumer demand. This surge of change
is impacting healthcare systems and providers, medical educators,
researchers, practitioners, and patients. New and innovative approaches
are challenging conventional diagnostic and treatment methods, medical
education, and health insurance coverage. The issues are complex and
provocative and warrant ongoing discourse.

This conference assembles many of the world's leading experts on
alternative and integrative medicine. The discussions will be led by Dr.
Andrew Weil, one of America's most insightful and renowned thinkers about
the future of healthcare in America. Topics of discussion during the
various events planned include: the future of American medicine; the role
of integrative medicine in today's society; how it will impact health-care
delivery systems; what comprises an integrative practice; and future
directions in health-based education and research.
