Senior Research Associate posting


We are looking for a Senior Research Associate who, under the direction
of the Vice President of Research, will be able to undertake research
projects and programs for clients and in support of policy development.
The areas the CCSD works in include income security, employment, health,
poverty, child and family welfare, persons with disabilities, literacy,
taxation, Aboriginal issues, and racialized communities. The Senior
Research Associate would work in some of these areas.

The Senior Research Associate works cooperatively with other Senior
Associates and CCSD staff. They also act as a CCSD spokesperson in the
communication of research findings and policy positions to a wide range
of audiences. The Senior Research Associate represents the Council on
community and coalition projects, as well as on external committees and
working groups.

Qualifications for this position include the following:

*    Academic qualification at the MA level or higher;
*    Several years experience with social science research and
experience in the policy field;
*    Extensive knowledge of current economic and/or social policy
issues and theories;
*    Demonstrated ability to apply advanced quantitative and
qualitative research methodologies;
*    Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, plan, develop, implement
and evaluate major research programs and projects;
*    Experience using computer-based applications including Word,
Excel, PowerPoint, and SPSS;
*    Excellent writing and communications skills;
*    Knowledge of both English and French is a very important asset.

This is a full-time position with an excellent salary and benefits
package.
