ABOUT THE CONFERENCE AND CCPH

Community-Campus Partnerships for Health is a nonprofit organization
that
fosters partnerships between communities and educational institutions
that
build on each other's strengths and develop their roles as change agents

for improving health professions education, civic responsibility and the

overall health of communities.

Our 1998 annual conference will focus on the principles of
community-campus partnerships, "best practices" for putting these
principles into action, and building and sustaining a growing movement
of
health-promoting community-campus partnerships. A special track during
the conference will feature lessons learned from community-campus
partnerships in the Appalachian region of the United States.

Over 500 participants from communities, higher education, government,
philanthropy and the health care delivery system will together explore
the
ways in which the strengths and assets of communities and of higher
education can be effectively mobilized to improve health and quality of
life.

Conference features include...over 50 workshops...site visits to local
community-campus partnership programs..a plenary panel of private and
public fundres..."navigating the future" sessions that enable
participants
to contribute to an agenda for action on community-campus
partnerships...
...posters and exhibits...and much more!

The conference is also an opportunity to become a member of
Community-Campus Partnerships for Health. Become a member today and join
a
growing network of leaders committed to building healthier communities!
