Annual 9 Week Diploma Course next available February 1 - April 2 1999.  Sponsored by the Gorgas Memorial Institute and given in Lima, Peru at the Tropical Medicine Institute, Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia this unique tropical medicine training initiative combines an international faculty with didactic and formal bedside teaching right in the tropics.  380 contact hours (in English), 160 formal lecture hours, plus diagnostic laboratory, daily ward rounds on a 36 bed tropical disease unit or daily out-patient clinic, and case conferences. International Student Recruiter

In support of its expanding international role within the region, The University of New Brunswick in Saint John invites applications for a two year renewable term position that will report to the Director of the International Liaison Office. The incumbent will be responsible for the continued development and  implementation of the campus's international recruitment strategy, including its innovative new programs in electronic commerce and the health sciences. Duties include representing the campus at international education fairs, maintaining a network of recruiting agents world-wide, assisting the Admissions Officer as required in assessing foreign student applications, liaising with the Modern Languages Centre for
purposes of ESL recruitment and overseeing the operation of a homestay program. Opportunities also will exist for participation in the management of one or more of UNBSJ's three multi-million dollar development assistance projects. 
Aside from excellent communication skills and prior international experience, the candidate should be mobile, have some background working in a university environment, and multilingual skills.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education: A postgraduate degree to at least the master's level, in one of the health related sciences with specialized
training in nutrition and epidemiology.  An M.D. with specialization in nutrition or a Ph.D. in a nutritional science would be an asset.
Experience: At national level: Seven years of experience in public health nutrition, including experience in the evaluation of applied nutrition projects and experience in program planning and execution.  At international level: Two years of participation in technical cooperation projects and activities related to food and nutrition.  Languages: Very good knowledge of English with a working knowledge of Spanish. Association for Health Services Research (AHSR) Celebrates 15th Anniversary
