Legal Issues in Homecare Telemedicine:
Planning for Tomorrow and Beyond

This one-day seminar assembles experts in the homecare
telemedicine environment to offer insights into many
of the legal issues now confronting homecare telemedical
practice.  Pivotal areas such as licensure, malpractice
liability, insurance, emerging technology, and fraud
and abuse will be addressed.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES include:
* learn how to match telehealth care service needs with
  available technologies
* describe the process in an electronic housecall
* identify current legal issues confronting homecare telemedicine
* identify risk management issues as they apply to telemedicine
  technology in the home environment
* assess the political, policy, legal and marketplace forces which
  underlie efforts to enact or prevent federal preemption of
  state healthcare licensure laws
* learn about existng HCFA policies regarding telemedicine
  reimbursement
* identify ways of maximizing benefits of telemedicine in the
  home while avoiding fraud and abuse

ACCREDITATION FOR PHYSICIANS AND NURSES:
This program qualifies for 6.5 hours of Category I credit
towards the AMA Physician's Recognition Award and 7.5 credits
for continuing education in Nursing.
